How to Create a Wedding That Feels Like You (Not Pinterest)

We all love Pinterest for inspiration but when you’re planning your own wedding, it can quickly turn from inspiring to overwhelming.

Suddenly, every idea looks beautiful, and none of them feel like you.

So how do you find your own style among the sea of trends?

Here are a few calm, practical ways to bring your personality into your wedding design.

1. Start With Feeling, Not Colour

Before choosing flowers or fabrics, ask yourself how you want your day to feel?

Do you want warmth and intimacy? Effortless romance?

Your colours and details will fall into place naturally when you start with emotion first.

2. Curate, Don’t Copy

Inspiration boards are wonderful, but they’re just that... inspiration.

Pick why you love an image (the texture, light, or atmosphere), and blend it with your own story.

That’s where the magic happens.

3. Choose Meaningful Touches

Incorporate personal details. Maybe a favourite flower, a memory, or a nod to your story together.

It’s these subtle layers that make your styling feel genuine and heartfelt.

4. Simplify Your Palette

It’s tempting to fall in love with every shade of pink and gold, but calm styling often comes from restraint.

Choose a few key tones and let texture and lighting do the rest.

5. Work With a Stylist Who Gets You

The right stylist won’t just design for you... they’ll design with you.

Someone who listens to your ideas, simplifies the process, and creates a calm, confident experience from start to finish.

(And if that sounds like what you’re looking for… I’d love to chat.)

Remember, your wedding style isn’t a label!

It’s a reflection of you.

When your design feels aligned with your story, everything else falls effortlessly into place.
